Office Assistants Program

March 6 - 8, 2024 - Houston, Texas, hosted by St. John's School

March 25 - 27, 2024 - La Jolla, California, hosted by The Bishop’s School

Capacity for each program is 40 participants. Members must be logged in to their ACCIS online accounts to register; we encourage all key school contacts to ensure that their office assistants have their own accounts to facilitate registration. From past experience, we know that these programs fill very quickly, so we recommend being already logged in to your ACCIS account when registration opens. We will maintain waitlists for each program and have been able to accommodate a few waitlisted members each year.

Registration fee for either program is $400 and attendees will reserve and pay separately for a hotel room within a group block at the host hotel; the link for hotel reservation will be included in the confirmation email. The program fee includes the opening dinner, one lunch, most local transportation, and program costs. Participants pay for their own travel to the program, hotel, remaining meals, and any other expenses. Hotel Costs: Houston - $139 + tax/night; La Jolla - $218 + tax/night.

This unique opportunity for college counseling office/administrative assistants features the discussion of best practices in working with the counselors, families, processes, and information technology at the heart of our college counseling profession. During each program, 35-40 participants gather for two days of dialogue, idea exchange, and collaboration. Participants depart having gained knowledge and a network of colleagues for continued professional communication and support.

Meetings are hosted by an ACCIS member school, often with guest speakers from or a visit to a nearby college or university, in addition to other guests. A sample agenda and sample discussion/small group topics are linked for review. Each program will differ based upon participant input.
