Summer Institute 2013 -- June 16-19, 2013

Location: Macalester College
Registration Fee: $500.00  (includes housing and meals, except dinner on Tuesday night)

The ACCIS Summer Institute is a valuable professional development program that directly addresses the unique needs of college counselors in independent schools. Join fellow ACCIS members at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota to discuss current topics in our field and to consider our theme, “Changing Perspectives: Thinking Differently about College Choice.” In today’s economy amidst greater public scrutiny of the value of higher education, how do families and colleges manage choices and trade-offs in the college selection process?  Sessions led by guest speakers as well as ACCIS members will address these challenges. Best Practices Round Tables and visits to Carleton College, St. Olaf College, and the University of Minnesota will also be part of our ambitious four-day schedule.  

Registration opens on February 1, 2013 and is limited to 175 counselors (limit two counselors per school).

2013 ACCIS Post-Institute College Tour

Dates: June 19 – 21, 2013
Colleges Included:  Lawrence University, Marquette University, and University of Wisconsin Madison
Registration Fee: $75.00

Immediately following the ACCIS Summer Institute, counselors who register for the Post-Institute College Tour will depart Macalester College to visit colleges in Wisconsin.  Accommodations will be on campus at Lawrence University and in a hotel in Madison, where rooms may be primarily double accommodations. We estimate a five hour drive in a comfortable coach bus to the Lawrence campus on Wednesday, and returning from UW Madison to the Twin Cities airport on Friday. On Friday the tour bus will return to the Twin Cities airport by 5:00 pm for flight departures starting at 6:30 p.m.  Alternative: participants may take a public bus departing UW Madison campus at 11:30 am arriving at Chicago O’Hare airport at 2:30 pm for flights departing starting at 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Registration opens February 1, 2013 and is limited to 30 counselors (limit two counselors per school).
